Paid Journalism Internship
Media Organization: Madison Avenue Spy
Company Description
Madison Avenue Spy started in May 2008, to fill a void on the internet. Previously, there was nowhere to find timely shopping information including markdowns, discounts, and promotions. We set out to answer the most important question in fashion: When does the sale begin? In 16 years since it started, Madison Avenue Spy has quietly grown into a blockbuster force in luxury offline and online sales. The site regularly ranks among the top conversions for luxury retailers like Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, and Net-A-Porter. In 2025, Madison Avenue Spy directly converted more than $10 million in online sales. Readers trust our advice, fashion sense, and unwillingness to compromise superb customer service. Our expertise comes from many years of experience and is executed in the craft of traditional journalism. Blog founder, 'LILA DELILAH,' crafted her skill during her early career which was split among New York Magazine, WallStreet Journal, Smart Money, and ABC News.

The project is an interview-based show set inside a live retail environment and hosted for social media platforms. Conversations are editorial in nature, focusing on taste, decision-making, and how people actually shop, with styling and fashion serving as the visual and reporting context.

Capture conversational, observational footage in live retail settings
Edit short- and mid-form interview content for social distribution
Help maintain production quality while preserving an authentic, journalistic tone
Who this is for:
Interest in journalism, digital media, or documentary-style storytelling
Comfortable filming interviews for social platforms (iPhone is fine)
Basic editing skills (CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut, or similar)
Strong editorial instincts and understanding of social-first formats
Interest in fashion, culture, or retail as reporting environments
Details:
Paid role ($30/hour)
Part-time or internship structure (flexible)
In-person work in New York
Opportunity to work on a social-media-hosted interview format at the intersection of journalism and commerce
