Job Description

The Director of Audience Growth & Partnerships role is responsible for growing Skylight's reach and engagement while developing earned revenue through sponsorships, partnerships, advertising, and events.

Working in our fast-paced, start-up environment, you will drive audience engagement and establish Skylight as the definitive source for news, information and solutions related to the clean energy transition in residential buildings in New York City. You will also shape sponsorship and advertising offerings, expand relationships with organizations working in the clean tech and clean energy industries, and deliver a robust series of in-person events.

Success in this role requires understanding how audience and revenue reinforce each other: strong journalism builds trust; trust builds community; and community creates opportunities for sustainable growth. You will review newsletter metrics, develop community partnerships, test reader-engagement strategies, build sponsor relationships, and pitch organizations aligned with Skylight’s mission.

By building our community of passionate, like-minded doers and engaging partners to develop earned income for Skylight, the Director of Audience Growth & Partnerships will help us speed up the clean energy transition in New York City. Join us!
