Circa, a new mobile-friendly, video-driven news and entertainment portal designed for the next-generation consumer, is looking for students to be a part of its internship program. Circa is Sinclair Broadcasting’s new nationally focused enterprise that lets users do more than just read or watch content. We are looking for motivated, ambitious college Junior or Senior students who are seeking to expand their knowledge, improve their skills and kick-start their career. Push the envelope of career possibilities and gain an edge in the broadcast industry. Combine your classroom educational experiences with those of a state-of-the-art broadcast and multimedia facility. This program will give you experience working in a network-level news environment with opportunities to learn about broadcast and digital production on a daily basis. It will also give you exposure to one of the largest and most diversified television broadcasting companies in the country, programming 167 stations located in 77 geographically diverse markets.
Internship Duties and Responsibilities:
Learn how digital content is created, from pitch to completion, and how social media is used as a powerful disseminator of that content
Receive hands-on experience using content management systems such as Storyline, digital video cameras and Adobe Premier Video Editing for news production
Get exposure to strategic social media tools, such as Banjo, Boombox, Sprinkler and Facebook to engage users
Internship Requirements:
A college student with Junior or Senior status. Graduate students are also eligible for consideration
Able to receive college credit for this internship
A responsible professional who has prior internship and/or work experience
A candidate with a terrific attitude who can work well with a team as well as independently
A creative self-starter who can work well under constant deadline
Willing to work mornings, nights and/ or weekends
Varying Hours: We will do our best to work with your schedule
This is a non-paid internship position
Must be able to work 20 hours a week
