Beauty Editorial Internship - Good Housekeeping, Prevention, Woman's Day Magazines

The Hearst Lifestyle Group (Good Housekeeping, Woman’s Day, Prevention Magazines) is offering a highly competitive and educational beauty editorial internship for winter/spring 2020. Interns will gain hands-on experience in the editorial side of the beauty industry learning how a national magazine’s beauty department functions day-to-day.

Responsibilities will include conducting research and transcribing interviews for articles, writing print and digital pieces, pitching ideas, communicating with brands and publicists, maintaining organization of the workspace, and preparing for photo shoots, among other daily tasks.

Candidates must be detail-oriented, hardworking, organized, and enthusiastic about beauty. Previous editorial experience is a plus. Interns MUST be able to receive academic credit for this internship experience. Candidates should be able to intern two days per week from early January 2020 through May (or a full spring semester).

Marie Claire Features Intern

Marie Claire’s features department is looking to hire bright, detail-oriented editorial interns for the spring of 2020 (starting Early Jan). Candidates must have an interest in career news, international women’s news, entertainment/culture, and relationships. This is NOT a fashion internship.

The internship experience includes shadowing features editors while they put together upcoming issues, and learning how to research, report, pitch, write and transcribe interviews for a national magazine. We’re looking for interns who can work two days/week (or about 16 hours). The internship is unpaid and all applicants must be able to receive school credit.

2020 Spring Production Internship

Interns are an important part of Salon’s daily operations. They work closely with Salon staff to research, report, write and produce our news and culture coverage. They also learn about the day-to-day workings of an award-winning online news and entertainment site. Many Salon interns have gone on to jobs in the media, including Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Elle, CNN and, of course, Salon.

We require a time commitment of at least 15 hours per week, over at least 2 days. This position works with our editorial staff, with production studio and video team opportunities available. This internship is for college credit. Some professional experience is required.

City & State spring semester editorial internship

City & State is accepting internship applications from students seeking journalism experience for academic credit. Two positions are available starting Jan. 27 through about April 27 in the editorial department and may involve reporting, research, fact gathering and other related responsibilities. The internship is 10-20 hours per week; start date and time frame flexible. Position is unpaid; interns MUST be able to receive academic credit.

Women’s Health magazine is offering a highly competitive and educational internship for Fall 2019. Candidates must be enthusiastic about beauty, detail-oriented, hardworking, and organized. Previous editorial experience is a plus. Interns MUST be receiving academic credit for this internship experience. Candidates should be able to intern 2 days a week from September through December (or a full fall semester).

Paid Journalism Internship in Washington, D.C. - Spring 2020

The program matches interns with print, broadcast, or online media outlets based on their interests and experience. Interns spend an average of 30 hours per week gaining practical, hands-on journalism experience. Potential placements include the Washington Times, the Washington Examiner, C-SPAN, Fox News, and more.

Students will attend the NJC seminar one day a week, sharpening their writing and reporting skills and gaining a better understanding of media, society, and public policy, and the intersection between the three in Washington, D.C. and nationwide.

Internships are offered during the spring semester, full-time, 5 days a week. Students must be on-site to participate, no remote opportunities.

Production/Post-Production Intern

Noujaim Films is looking for an enthusiastic and talented Production/Post-Production intern to join our team for the duration of the Fall Semester.

You will be working with Karim Amer, Jehane Noujaim, and the team behind the Academy Award-nominated documentary, The Square, and Netflix's The Great Hack.

We are looking for someone who is passionate and knowledgable about documentary film, extremely committed and preferably with some experience working in film or tv. Must also have strong analytical, research, and writing skills and work well as part of a team and independently.

The position will require conducting research to assist the production team with story and archival development, assisting with footage transcription and subtitling, office administrative duties, amongst other things.

Internship can be for credit if needed, but not mandatory. A small travel stipend will be provided.
