The Mainichi Newspapers is looking to hire an intern to assist operation of its New York bureau. As a long-established publication and one of the top 5 in national newspaper circulation worldwide, an internship with Mainichi will surely provide excellent experience to any student of journalism, or any individual seeking a future in Asia- or Japan-related fields.

Job Description

Intern's duties include research on a wide range of topics, arranging interviews, transcription, tasks relating to office management, and assisting the bureau chief, sportswriter or United Nations correspondent in their duties as needed. Intern will be expected in our Midtown East bureau twice a week from 10am to 6pm with a one hour lunch break. Internship is unpaid; Cost of transportation and lunch will be reimbursed.
