Job Description

Environment Reporter

The Center for Public Integrity is looking for a reporter to join its Pulitzer-winning environment and workers’ rights team in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience as a journalist, with a background in enterprise reporting. Strong writing ability is a must; data skills are a plus.

Responsibilities include:

Developing investigative stories on subjects such as federal and state environmental regulation, environmental health and energy development, with a focus on climate change.

Writing vivid, original articles, ranging in length from 1,000 words to more than 5,000 words, for publication on the Center’s and media partners’ websites. Clean copy is mandatory.

Working collaboratively with other members of the team and our partners, which have included The Associated Press, the Texas Tribune, NPR, The Weather Channel, USA TODAY, The Guardian and Slate.

Collecting and analyzing data, when applicable.
