The Programme
Trainees are closely mentored during a first year programme designed to fast-track their development. It starts with a period of intensive training and is followed by a rotation to the major desks. Upon successful completion of the programme, trainees will move to permanent reporting jobs on their assigned desks.

Who we look for
Talented, ambitious graduates who want to become journalists. Excellent English, strong writing skills, and a curious mind are essential. Cantonese or Mandarin, and multimedia skills are highly beneficial.

Recruitment Process
Our interview process is designed to test both your journalistic knowledge and skills, and whether SCMP is the place for you to achieve your aspirations and grow your career.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for written assessment and multimedia assessment in February 2021.
Video and Panel Interview (Face-to-Face or Virtual) in March 2021.
Offer of employment to successful candidates in April 2021.
Programme commences in late June 2021.
