Job Description

The newly re-designed DramaFever News (www.dramafever.com/news) is seeking a full-time Editorial Assistant and freelance news writers. The editorial assistant position must be based in New York City, writers can work remotely.

About DF News Writers

Writers and editors work with the Social Media Manager to perform a variety of creative tasks involving social media and marketing. This includes pitching story ideas, writing editorial articles and creating memes. This is an excellent opportunity for a writer with an interest in pop culture, Korean dramas and K-pop and could potentially turn into a full-time position as an Editorial Assistant.

Who You Are

You’re creative, open-minded about different cultures, and enjoy working independently and as part of a team.
You have experience writing viral content.
You are interested in pop culture (Asian and American), the web, comedy and psychology.
You enjoy finding new ways to engage readers.
You have sound news and editorial judgment.

What You'll Do

Research and report on pop culture, light news, trends and other topics relevant to our audiences.
Pitch ideas and create editorial content.
Create and carry out social media campaigns across several platforms.

Requirements

Familiarity or interest in Asian pop culture (Korean, but also Chinese and Japanese).
Strong writing skills.
Familiarity with Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Google+.
Bonus Points if...

You know your way around Photoshop.
You’re funny and can crank out a killer meme.
You are fluent in Korean, Chinese or Japanese.
