Newly launched, Okayafrica is the go-to online forum for all things cutting edge by way of Africa. With it's focus on emerging, progressive African music that fuses traditional rhythms and melodies with forward thinking musical forms such as hiphop, electronica, indie rock, reggae and more, Okayafrica will answer the question: How does Africa relate to contemporary Western pop culture? Okayafrica is also a multifaceted media company, a brand that will operate not just on the web, but through event production in the community, live music tours, creation of original video content, and much more.

Job Description

Okayplayer’s newest channel and blog, Okayafrica, is now taking applications for contributors.

Contributors will have opportunities to blog and write feature articles.

Bloggers are responsible for:
+ seeking out new content and posting it
+ blogging content sent by editors within a set timeframe
+ being available to post 1 blog per day, 4 days a week (these can sometimes be seeded ahead of time)

Feature writers will:
+ pitch features to editors
+ research, write, and possibly photo edit stories
+ work within a deadline

Contributors will have the opportunity to work on site as well as off.
