Job Description

New York’s leading neighborhood news source is looking for a part-time editor to run operations over the weekend.

The ideal candidate has several years of editing experience at a newspaper or website, especially handling breaking news. She or he should have exceptional knowledge of New York City and a sharp news judgment, as well as an aptitude for publishing on the web.

The weekend editor will be responsible for managing all of the news that breaks on Saturdays and Sundays. The ability to multitask on deadline is a must, along with prior experience of managing reporters on a story. Web CMS experience or relationships with police and fire sources are a plus.
