Company Description

Candidates should have a passionate interest in photography, journalism and the arts. The position primarily entails writing about photography, and the candidate must be familiar with TIME's contract photographers as well as general news and trends within the industry. Editorial writing, fact-checking and research is a must, and candidates should feel comfortable turning pieces around under tight deadlines. Must be highly organized and efficient to multi-task and meet deadlines and coordinate work flow with the photo editors. Ideal candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and will be able to work in a team setting, as well as independently. Familiarity with PhotoShop, InCopy and InDesign is preferred.

Job Description

Specific tasks include:
-Writing daily posts for LightBox
-Assisting photo editors in writing photo captions or proofreading existing captions
-Schedule weekly LightBox meetings and follow up with editors on their responsibilities as necessary
-Fact check and do basic grammar editing on pieces from contributing writers
-Candidates should be available to work Monday-Friday
