The Dramatists Guild of America was established over eighty years ago, and is the only professional association which advances the interests of playwrights, composers and lyricists. The Guild has over 6,000 members world-wide, from beginning writers to the most prominent authors represented on Broadway, Off-Broadway and in regional theatres. The Publications Department oversees The Dramatist magazine, the Guild’s bi-monthly publication, which is the only national magazine devoted to the business of writing for the theater. Each issue features a broad range of articles, symposia, conversations and essays from some of America’s foremost dramatists.

Job Description

The Dramatists Guild of America is seeking an intern to work with the Publications Department for the spring semester. Hours are completely flexible. The internship is unpaid, and not eligible for academic credit.

The Publications Intern tasks include, but are not limited to, researching, compiling, and formatting the Dramatist Diary for the magazine; helping compile and format the National Reports; proofreading all copy for The Dramatist; and generally assisting the Publications Director with research and daily publications business plus provide in-office support when the Publications Director is on vacation. Knowledge of InDesign is helpful but not mandatory.
