Job Description
The Video Editor/Producer will report to the Editorial Director and develop, shoot, and produce original video for The Daily Meal, as well as curate and manage third-party video input. This person would ideally be a food-obsessed, creative genius with on-camera and behind-the-scenes experience as well as have a producer’s gift for storyboarding and generating ideas for food-oriented series, cooking demonstrations, chef interviews, and more.
Responsibilities:
-Develop ideas for original video that complement the site’s editorial vision and strategy
-Shoot, edit, encode, and upload 23 short videos daily and work with content editors to integrate the video on the site
-Build out TheDailyMeal.com’s video offerings and make it a destination for high-quality, engaging food and drink video content
-Work independently to scout locations, set up shoots, gather b-roll, and oversee audio quality and lighting
-Curate and manage third-party video input from a variety of sources
Requirements:
-Must have 1-2 years of online video production
-Experience with Final Cut and Premier Suite
-Experience with camera and lighting technology
-Knowledge of the food industry and food media world preferred
