Journalism Internship

Media Organization: The Newsweek Daily Beast Company

Company Description

American news reporting and opinion website covering politics, business, entertainment, fashion.

Job Description

Newsweek/The Daily Beast is looking for a part- or full-time editorial intern to join its online fashion department, Fashion Beast.

This is a very hands-on job—interns are integral to the daily upkeep of The Daily Beast! You’ll be helping to pitch, produce, research, and write stories about fashion and art -- as well as keep fashion lookbooks and galleries up-to-date and help with bigger projects. Fashion Beast interns are responsible for writing the daily “Fashion Cheat Sheet,” which is a crucial summation of the day’s news.

We ask that interns come to the job with writing prior experience. Ability to work quickly on deadline is a must. You should be passionate about all things fashion and pop culture, as well as have a keen nose for news. Photoshop and/or multimedia skills are preferred but not required.

Applicants should be plugged in to what’s happening in the viral world, and have a constant hunger for fashion news.

This is an unpaid internship for students, and interns must receive college credit. Hours are flexible, but at least two days between Monday- Fridays are required.

To Apply

Please send cover letter and resume for review to Erin Cunningham (erin.cunningham@newsweekdailybeast.com). If interested, we will schedule an in-person interview at our NYC office.
