Job Description

Bustle.com is seeking a freelance news writer to start ASAP to help fill its news vertical with intelligent, thoughtful content. The writer will cover the biggest news stories of the day and should be well versed in both national and world news as well as politics, health, tech, science, and more.

The news writer will be expected to produce roughly 4-5 posts per day during normal business hours (EST). Posts will mostly be informative news summaries and intelligently curated galleries, although original reporting will be encouraged. We are not looking for auto-pilot re-blogs, and applicants should be experienced writers/reporters/bloggers.

A minimum commitment of at least 3 days per week is required, although the position could be 4-5 days a week as well.

This position can be remote (or writers can work from our Brooklyn office), and is especially well-suited to full-time freelancers. We’re looking for someone with at least two years of blogging and reporting experience, a unique voice, pitch-perfect news judgement, and speedy delivery. Applicants should also be familiar with Bustle and our news coverage.
