Media Organization: Spoon
Spoon provides an alternative to the typical habit of mindless eating by encouraging exploration and conversation about food within the college setting. Each Spoon campus chapter delivers recipes, restaurant reviews, food news, events and resources created by students, for students, with an emphasis on simplicity and quality. Spoon is a platform for sharing and learning all the things you’re supposed to know about food but don’t. To learn more, visit spoonuniversity.com/about
Spoon University is looking for smart, enthusiastic, creative students to become contributors for the national homepage. Contributors will work closely with the founders to brainstorm, research and create content that is published on the national site at spoonuniversity.com. Contributors are required to contribute at least 3 articles per month and can work on a freelance schedule, in addition to weekly meetings with the founders. Contributors must have superior writing and editing skills, be passionate about food, and should be eager to share and learn with college students across the country. Experience with WordPress and photography is a plus. This is a great opportunity to gain access to a larger food journalism network and have writing clips seen on a national scale.
To apply, please send a cover letter, resume and two writing samples to email@example.com. Food writing is preferred, but any journalistic piece or writing clip will do. If you have experience with photography, please send in a selection of photos with the rest of the application materials.
