Global Nomads Group (GNG) is an international NGO whose mission is to foster dialogue and understanding among the world’s youth. GNG engages and empowers young people worldwide using media, including: interactive videoconferencing, webcasting, social networking, gaming, and participatory filmmaking. GNG operates at the intersection of international and peace education, striving to serve as a vehicle for awareness, bridging the boundaries of cultural misconceptions and instilling in our audience a heightened appreciation and comprehension of the world in which they live.

Our current programs include semester and yearlong virtual exchanges between students in the US and peers in Sub-Saharan Africa, Central and South East Asia, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). In addition, GNG offers The PULSE, a weekly series of programs that bring together students from around North America to discuss and debate international issues in a virtual “town-hall” setting.

Job Description

Global Nomads Group (GNG) is seeking a Producer/Production Manager to
1) offer vision and strategy on how to most effectively distribute our media content to our target audience
2) produce, from concept to final edit, educational videos tied to GNG’s programs
3) support GNG’s media literacy and participatory filmmaking programs for youth
4) manage support staff and interns
5) and design branded content for the web, video, and print

JOB DESCRIPTION
Design and implement a strategy for GNG’s production department focusing on audience reach and impact.
Follow educational trends and adjust strategy accordingly.
Support Program Staff to achieve program goals and objectives as it relates to media outputs in accordance with donor expectations, grant agreements and work plans.
Offer guidance and facilitation of GNG’s Media Literacy program track.
Offer in-house creative services including material design and production coordination
Ensure that GNG’s production equipment is properly managed
Manage Technical Coordinator as well as production interns.

QUALIFICATIONS
Four-year college degree in relevant subject areas (Advanced Degree preferred)
Five-years experience working in video production with a track record of successfully producing short segments.
Well versed in broadcast equipment including video cameras, audio gear and lighting
Experience with editing short segments for broadcast and/or educational distribution
Knowledge of Final Cut Pro, Adobe Creative Suite required. WordPress an advantage.
Experience mentoring youth in video and/or arts programs is a distinct advantage
Impeccable interpersonal, communication, research and presentation skills as well as strong writing skills.
Open to flexible hours
Multi-task oriented, well-organized and efficient time management skills.
Team player, adaptable, and self-motivated.
