Job Description

The Mainichi Newspapers (毎日新聞), a Japanese national daily newspaper, is looking to hire an intern to assist operation of its New York bureau. As a long-established publication and one of the top 5 in national newspaper circulation worldwide, an internship with Mainichi will surely provide excellent experience to any student of journalism, or any individual seeking a future in Asia- or Japan-related fields.

Intern duties include research on a wide range of topics, arranging interviews, transcription, tasks relating to office management, and assisting the bureau chief, sportswriter or United Nations correspondent in their duties as needed. Interns will be expected to work in our Midtown East bureau twice a week from 10am to 6pm. Cost of transportation and lunch will be reimbursed.
