Are you obsessed with social media, engaging readers, growing audiences, and driving traffic? Do you have an outstanding eye for trending news stories and viral content? Have a passion for digital content? Obsessed breaking news, premium video, celebrities, fashion or weddings?
You’ll have an opportunity to work across multiple big-brand websites, engaging with over 8.5 million followers across Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Tumblr and Google+. You’ll work with AOL.com, one of the most trafficked sites in the US, visited by 10 million readers every day. Plus, you’ll work across the most viewed group of Lifestyle sites in the country including StyleList, Kitchen Daily, MAKERS, Style Me Pretty, and Style Me Pretty Living.
We’re looking for go-getters and hard workers-- people who aren’t afraid to put in a little elbow grease to drive outstanding results. From day one you’ll be making an impact on a small start-up like team, brainstorming social campaigns, managing social posts, and pitching shareable content. You’ll dive head first into a world of everything social media and digital content, engaging our audiences, growing traffic and building brand awareness on a massive scale across multiple properties.
In this internship things you’ll be up to may include:
Pitching and producing shareable and engaging content
Brainstorming and creating promotions for diverse social media audiences
Manage social media accounts, curating new, relevant and engaging content
Work directly with the social media and editorial teams to implement and improve social media strategy
Monitor the news and trending stories across our sites to ensure we’re promoting the most up-to-date and engaging content
Who we’re looking for:
You’re a rising college junior or senior with a demonstrated passion for social media and digital content (especially breaking news and lifestyle content!)
You’ve already had internship experience in a professional setting working with social and/or digital media—bonus points if it was in media and/or at an internet publisher!
You’ve had experience using multiple social media tools such as Hootsuite or Sprout Social or other similar social media tools
You’re an active social media user on your own—if you don’t have an active profile on most (if not all) major platforms, this job is probably not the role for you!
You’re a master of grammar, have excellent writing skills and impeccable attention to detail
You’re a self starter who is known for taking initiative, eager to take on new tasks and share ideas
Bonus points if: You’ve got experience with Photoshop or a CMS (Content Management System)
