Job Description

Associate Editors are a vital part of the team that puts together the award-winning CNET News site, one of the key pillars of CBS Interactive's industry-leading CNET.com. In a fast-paced breaking-news environment, you'll work closely with editors, reporters, photographers, and others to deliver CNET News' full range of coverage in the most effective packages, from individual stories to live blogs to comprehensive, multipart features, with elements ranging from text and photos to audio and video.

The primary responsibility will be editing of stories in a timely fashion, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and vivid use of language (especially in headlines). Additional duties will include managing the CNET News home page and related pages; promoting stories via social media; and writing occasional spot news stories.

This is a contract position for 30 hours per week.
