Journalism Internship

Media Organization: Bustle.com

Company Description

Bustle.com is a new force in media: a news, entertainment, lifestyle, and fashion site for young women driven by a diverse and energetic collection of contributors. What we have in common with each other and our readers is that we're insatiably curious about the world. We care about what's working and what isn't, about fashion, politics, technology, diversity, books, celebrities, health, beauty, work, sex, friendship, and how to make amazing food on a budget. These are the stories we deliver every day in a format that's always getting better, quicker, and more engaging.

Job Description

Bustle.com is searching for a paid books intern available two to three days per week to work from our Brooklyn office. His/her primary responsibilities will include researching and writing daily books news, and compiling the books preview feature that runs at the beginning of each month. S/he will also have the opportunity to pitch features and essays. S/he will help keep our books editor sane by checking in all new books, maintaining the books database, and researching upcoming titles.

Our ideal candidate has a strong background in literature and writing, is interested in contemporary fiction, has a wealth of ideas, and has a library card that looks like it’s been through a war zone. This position is best suited for a grad student or recent graduate, but writing chops are what will get you through the door, so apply if you think you’re a fit.
