Paid Journalism Internship

Media Organization: NowThis News

Company Description

NowThis is a next generation news network built for the mobile-social age. Every day, we tell the stories that matter through short-form videos that live across a host of social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Vine, Instagram and Snapchat) and online. Our core mission is to rethink news from the ground up, and we’re looking for a couple of production interns to help us out.

Job Description

This is a paid ($10/hour), non-credit internship.

Who we’re looking for

Social media super-users
We create for the social web, and we need a team that lives on it. Tweet, Snap, Tumble – and know what makes a piece of content shareable online.

Web obsessives
Check Reddit before you read the Washington Post (but read both) and find viral videos before they’re on Gawker.

News junkies
If can’t tell us something about what’s going on in Egypt and don’t have a favorite for Best Picture, this gig probably isn’t for you.

Visual thinkers
We tell stories visually. Have a great eye for compelling video, a love of interesting graphics and a knack for choosing the best image to convey meaning.

Hilarious creatives, glint-eyed geniuses and undercover hipsters
If you bound in here bursting with big and weird ideas for how to rethink the news, lots of energy and a great attitude, you’ll fit right in.

Interns should have experience in Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere.

To Apply

What to send us

1. A cover letter. Skip the Dear Sir or Madam bit and help us get to know you. Points for brevity.
2. A resume that lists where you went to college and work experience.
3. A few internet videos you love with a quick note on why they’re great
4. Any cool projects you've worked on.
Send it all to Internship at NowThisMedia dot com and put the words Production Internship in the subject line.
