Job Description

Scholastic News, an upper elementary magazine that brings grade-appropriate, curriculum-connected nonfiction and current events to classrooms, is seeking a paid intern. The job duties include fact-checking, researching and pitching story ideas, writing news shorts, and assisting with day-to-day tasks.

The ideal candidate has experience working in magazines or other print news media, is a very good writer, pays attention to detail, and has a good grasp on the types of stories that work well for our elementary school audience. Experience with InCopy is also a plus.

The internship will take place in the Scholastic office in New York City and will run through the Fall Semester. Interns would be asked to come into the office two days a week. The hours are 10 am to 6 pm.
