Paid Journalism Internship
Media Organization: Bustle
WELCOME TO BUSTLE,
A NEW FORCE IN MEDIA THAT DELIVERS EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO KNOW, SEE, AND READ — RIGHT NOW — WHETHER YOU'RE STARTING YOUR WORK DAY, TAKING A STUDY BREAK, WAITING FOR A FLIGHT, PREPARING A BOTTLE FOR YOUR KID, OR DOING SOMETHING ELSE ENTIRELY.
WHAT WE HAVE IN COMMON WITH EACH OTHER AND YOU IS THAT WE'RE INSATIABLY CURIOUS ABOUT THE WORLD.
WE CARE ABOUT WHAT'S WORKING AND WHAT ISN'T, ABOUT FASHION, POLITICS, TECHNOLOGY, DIVERSITY, CELEBRITIES, HEALTH, BEAUTY, WORK, SEX, FRIENDSHIP, AND HOW TO MAKE AMAZING FOOD ON A BUDGET.
THESE ARE THE STORIES WE DELIVER EVERY DAY IN A FORMAT THAT'S ALWAYS GETTING BETTER, QUICKER, AND MORE ENGAGING.
BUSTLE IS FOR AND BY WOMEN WHO ARE MOVING FORWARD AS FAST AS YOU ARE.
Bustle.com is searching for PAID writing interns to start January 2015 who specialize in one of our site's verticals: news/politics, entertainment, fashion/beauty, lifestyle, or books. Interns work directly with the vertical's editor to contribute daily news posts, features, and originally reported pieces (yep!).
Writers have the opportunity to produce at least three articles daily and be featured on the site as contributors. Applicants should be recent college graduates or in their final years, and should be looking to build a clips portfolio to pursue a career in journalism. Applicants should have proven writing skills, experience pitching stories, a wealth of ideas, and be passionate about covering one of the following topics:
-Lifestyle (women's issues, relationships, sexuality, feminism, careers, food, health)
-Web Culture/Viral Content (weird news, viral videos, cute animals, photo essays, etc.)
Applicants should be available 2 full days per week and are able to work from our Manhattan office.
To apply, please send a cover letter with a short note about why you're interested, a resume (PDF is preferred), and three related clips (links to published work preferred) to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line " Winter Internship: Topic - Your Name."
