Journalism Internship

Media Organization: Surface magazine and Watch Journal magazine

Company Description

With an international team headquartered in New York, Surface is the definitive American voice of global contemporary design. Published ten times a year, the magazine provides a rich resource to discover groundbreaking projects, emerging talents, and innovative developments in the worlds of architecture, fashion, art, and design. More than a superficial survey of trends, Surface is the substance of style.

Job Description

Surface, an art, architecture, and design magazine, is seeking summer editorial interns. We're looking for students with strong editorial and writing skills; an interest in art, design, or architecture is also a plus. English, journalism, and art history majors will probably be the best fit.

Our interns get great hands-on experience and often receive bylines in the magazine. It's a fantastic chance for students interested in an editorial career to get clips and to see what goes on behind the scenes at a magazine.

Duties include fact checking, writing, performing small research projects, assisting with social media, and other activities as needed. Interns will also help as needed with writing for Surface's sister title, Watch Journal, which covers fine timepieces.
