Palliative care helps people of all ages with any serious or chronic illness live better. The Partnership for Palliative Care is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that promotes and focuses on palliative care service expansion, research, advocacy, and public education. We are seeking an intern to support the growth and development of the Partnershipʼs online presence.

Job Description

Do you want to be part of a growing organization that works to improve the culture of care for those impacted by illness? Do you have an interest in new media and social media and helping move the needle on an issue online? If yes, we may have the perfect opportunity for you! The Partnership for Palliative Care is looking for a summer intern to join our team.

The Role
Responsibilities include: researching and writing copy about palliative care for our online platforms; helping to creatively grow our networks online; identifying and building relationships with key influencers and partners; helping with posts on social sites; engaging patients and caregivers with compelling content; helping with our website and blog; and assisting with tracking the impact of our content.

Qualifications
–An ability to write about complex issues for a lay audience (journalism experience a plus!)
– A love of/solid understanding of all things social media
–Research experience!
-An interest in working in the non-profit sector
–Flexibility to work in our midtown Manhattan office, as well as remotely

A plus:
–Experience using social media as part of a project or organization (including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, blog, etc.) and social media metrics
–A passion for public health and healthcare issues
–Outreach or online organizing skills
- HTML experience
–Media production or graphic design skills
–Marketing or PR experience

Internships are for approximately 2-3 days a week through the end of the Summer in our midtown Manhattan office. We are able to pay a minimum wage stipend.
