Job Description

Intern Purpose & Responsibilities:
The CNBC Long Form Programming Unit produces original documentaries in addition to overseeing the outside productions of acquired programs. This fall there will be an opportunity to assist on projects at different stages of production from pre-production planning and research, to fieldwork, post-production and marketing. Interns will assist producers and editors on documentary projects, and social media marketing campaigns. We get our interns involved in the process as much as possible.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Research
Developing story ideas
Identifying potential interview subjects Compiling transcript and research books Logging footage
Archival research
Obtaining outside footage and photos
Updating our archive- indexing tape and media
Assisting with social media
General office duties
Assisting on local field shoots
Exposure to scripting, graphics, marketing and edit meetings
Opportunity to learn and write clips for promotional purposes.

Qualifications:
Should have strong computer skills - Word, Excel, Nexis (is a plus) and a good understanding of social media platforms.

They should be familiar with CNBC's Long Form programming. Our department has produced over 70 documentaries and specials in the last nine years. They are available for screening on Hulu.com and iTunes under "CNBC Originals".

Our interns are given hands on experience that provides a solid foundation and prepares them for careers in journalism and television production.
