VOLUNTEER INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
Department: Foreign Affairs - Editorial
Semester: Spring 2016
CFR’s volunteer internships give selected volunteer interns the opportunity to receive training in the area of foreign policy; as well as skills training in areas such as writing, research, and program planning.
Foreign Affairs magazine has a volunteer internship opening in the Editorial Department. The volunteer intern will have the unique opportunity to see all of the inner workings of a major magazine.
The volunteer duties of the intern will include (but are not limited to):
• Supporting editors in search engine optimization and image research, social media, multimedia production, and article staging
• Attending Council meetings as time permits
• Other logistical support as needed
Qualifications:
• Undergraduate student with concentration in political science, international affairs, journalism, or related field
• Demonstrated interest in journalism and online publishing
• Past relevant internship experience preferred
• Some basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Superior attention to detail, with ability to juggle multiple priorities
CFR volunteer internships are unpaid and are filled on a rolling basis.
