The Job:
Working closely with the Digital Editor, the Associate Digital Editor will be responsible for pitching and writing as well as editing and assigning stories (working directly with writers), brainstorming ideas for larger editorial packages, drafting newsletter copy, assisting with the story QA process, maintaining homepage and section fronts with fresh content, helping to translate print issues to the website, managing Twitter, and assisting with Instagram. The Associate Digital Editor must be able to juggle multiple projects and manage many moving parts while still paying close attention to detail.
You will:
Be comfortable working with tight deadlines and prioritizing multiple projects
Have 3-5 years of experience in online or print publishing
Have experience working directly with writers (assigning stories, etc)
You are:
Well-rounded interests and experience in some/or all of the realms of travel, fashion, food + drink, art + culture, beauty + wellness, technology + gadgets, cars
An excellent and fast writer and line editor
A strong communicator, with exceptional written and verbal skills
Very organized, with strong multi-tasking skills, attention to detail, and ability to work well under pressure individually and as part of a team
Familiar with the online space and read a variety of websites
Additional skills (a plus to have, but not required): SEO research, minor HTML coding, familiarity with a CMS
