Media Organization: SevenPonds
Company Description
SevenPonds is the most visited blog on the topic of end of life. In 2018 we will be launching a new website which will formally switch to the SevenPonds Magazine becoming the leading publication on the topic. We are aimed at opening the conversation on death and dying.
Since no one talks about death our intent is to educate the public as to all their options at the end of life. We cover all three phases; terminal illness, death and grieving. Our mission is to offer the factual information allowing each individual to be empowered to make their own personal choices in their dying experience.
Job Description
We seek a journalism major to research and write an in-depth article relating to the funeral industry. We will define the purpose of the article and offer an outline of the topic, as well as, excellent leads to investigate the inside story. This is a topic that has been very limited in it's current coverage and none to date have the knowledge to present the real factual story. It deals with disposition, ecology and legislation. The gist of the story is the funeral industry is deceiving the public once again.
As a reporter you will gather information and engage in many first-person interviews to reveal the truth. This is a freelance job to be researched and written remotely. This is a great opportunity for a reporter just starting out to partner with a publication that is gaining visibility and credibility.
We will be pitching the story to major media sources. Starting at the top and using our connections.
