Company Description

Positive Masculinity Academy is a startup focused on extensive research on men and masculine identities. We are looking for an intern in gender studies or communication/public relations field interested in all aspects of the PR field. There are tremendous opportunities to learn research, marketing, public relations, and communication from multiple angles.
The most important attribute is an intern who is known for being persistent and not giving up until she/he finds what they were looking for regardless of the obstacles. If that is not you, if you are not known for that, this is not for you.

Job Description

• Monitor all forms of media
• Schedule and coordinate speaking engagements, appearances, photoshoots, and other special events (in-person work is suspended due to the pandemic)
• Write press releases and other materials
• Screen phone calls
• Assist with mailings and print production
• Create interview preparation materials
• Compile contact lists
• Contact and follow up with media partners & journalists
• Search for press clippings
• Create or update databases

• Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or Journalism major/Gender studies student with a strong interest in PR and communication will also be considered
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Solid understanding of social media
• Writing skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• Extremely persistent, innovative and result-driven

• Practical public relations experience working directly with clients & media contacts
• Shadowing, mentoring, and training opportunities with CEO & skilled professionals
