Media Organization: Salon.com
Founded in 1995, Salon is an independent publication covering news and politics through a progressive, nonpartisan editorial lens, alongside our rigorous and inquisitive coverage of culture and entertainment, science and health, and food.
One of the first entirely digital major media outlets, Salon has driven the national conversation since 1995 through fearless journalism distributed across Salon.com, Salon TV, social media, news platforms, email newsletters and mobile apps. Salon’s award-winning content, including our flagship show “Salon Talks” and other Salon TV programming, reaches an audience of approximately 10 million monthly unique visitors.
Salon.com is seeking an editorial intern for the spring 2022 semester to join our team.
Interns are an important part of Salon’s daily editorial operations. They work closely with Salon staff to research, report, write and produce our news and culture coverage. They also learn about the day-to-day workings of an award-winning online news and entertainment site. Many Salon interns have gone on to jobs in the media, including Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Elle, CNN and, of course, Salon.
Our internship requires a time commitment of roughly 12 hours per week, with a flexible schedule. Due to COVID-19, this is a remote-based position. This internship is for college credit. Some professional experience is required.
To apply, please send a cover letter, resume and writing samples to email@example.com. Tell us why you want to intern with Salon! Please specify in the subject line which vertical you're most interested in contributing to.
