Job Description

The New York Post is looking for a talented Sunday News Intern for the summer!

This is a paid position: $15/hr.

Candidates should have an understanding of not only hard news but entertainment and celebrity culture. Knowledge of NYC and environs preferred but not essential.

Please note this will be a Tuesday-Saturday schedule.

Primary responsibilities:

Pitch his or her own story ideas, with the expectation that we would assign the intern to execute an approved story idea (often pairing them with a Sunday staff reporter).

Assist reporters on researching background information for a story. This can take many forms, such as scanning social media for a subject's profile, photos or comments; helping to search, organize or tally databases to find relevant information for a story; etc.

Assigned to go to a location and report, gather quotes, observe, etc., and then feed those notes to the lead reporter on a story. Sometimes an intern will be asked to help write a story.

Qualifications:

Must have great news judgment.

The ability to work independently.

A passion for anything news related!
