Job Description

The award-winning Bronx Times, publishers of the Bronx Times and Bronx Times Reporter weekly newspapers, and bxtimes.com daily website, is seeking an innovative digital editor with reporting experience and an ability to think big to join its new energetic staff in the midst of an editorial transformation underway since mid-2021.

Our vision for the position is a hybrid one blending some editor functions with the opportunity for writing and reporting – breaking news, crime reporting, spot beat coverage or the occasional snapshot profile. If you have an ability to multitask and strong organizational skills, we want you.

The focus of responsibilities will consist of website management, some copyediting, organizing our daily newsletter and monitoring the internet and social media for breaking news.

Additional duties will include managing aspects of our social media portfolio such as scheduling of posts, researching best practices, responding to inquiries and helping to author some social media content.

Those with experience in WordPress, SEO and Google Analytics are encouraged to apply.

The right candidate should also be detail-oriented with an eye toward proper grammar and punctuation, and familiar with Associated Press style copy. Candidates fluent in Spanish with a working knowledge of the Bronx will be strongly considered.
