Job Description

Newsweek is looking for a full-time freelance reporter to work with the magazine team for the next six months, taking on assignments for the weekly issue and special projects. The ideal candidate will have at least three to five years’ reporting and writing experience (both print and digital) and is comfortable working on stories across a wide range of subjects, which may include politics, U.S. and international news, culture/entertainment, travel, health, technology and business. Experience working on a weekly publication under tight deadlines is a plus, as is knowledge of SEO and social best practices. We’re a small, collegial team of deeply experienced editors and writers working within a large, news-driven media brand. This position is remote and pays $25/hour for a 40-hour week for six months (start date is flexible but as soon as possible—we’re eager to get started).
