Documented is a nonprofit news organization that produces reporting for and about immigrant New Yorkers. We provide original news stories on the ground-level impact of labor policy, law–enforcement practices, and new federal directives as well as Q&As and instructional guides that inform New Yorkers about food, health and financial aid and legal issues. We have won an Edward R. Murrow Award, Deadline Club award, Online Journalism Award, LION award and others. Our work has been mentioned by The New York Times, The Washington Post, in federal lawsuits, at the New York City Council and many other places.
Documented is a growing news organization and we are seeking a Deputy Editor to help shape and oversee our news coverage. We have five full-time reporters covering a wide range of issues and communities. This person will have experience working in a fast-paced digital newsroom but is open to reporting in new and innovative ways. We pride ourselves on producing news with input from the immigrant communities we seek to serve, allowing them to help shape our coverage.
