Interns at NYPR are given a robust internship program with hands-on responsibilities. The goal of our internship program is to provide our interns with a substantive, meaningful work experience so that each intern concludes the internship period with demonstrable skills in his/her area of interest, plus knowledge of public radio, in general.
Interns play a vital role in NYPR’s daily operations in almost every department of our organization from the Newsroom and our daily, weekly and weekend programs, to Marketing, Development and Engineering. Studio 360 is looking for sharp, enthusiastic self-starters, with or without radio skills, to participate in our internship program
What your internship will entail:
Interns sit in on editorial meetings
Gather research and pitch ideas
Collect materials for the website, and learn a variety of tasks involved in producing a weekly program.
Over the course of the term, interns gain fundamental radio skills (including audio editing) and will assist staff mentors with producing segments for the show.
Requirements:
Passion for the arts and popular culture, and a fascination with creative use of media.
Study or experience in journalism and/or radio production are valuable, but not required.
