Journalism Internship
Media Organization: Louise Blouin Media
Company Description
Louise Blouin Media is an art magazine, website, and book publishing company founded by Louise Blouin. Its titles include Art+Auction, Gallery Guide, Modern Painters and Blouinartinfo.com.
Job Description
Louise Blouin Media, publisher of Art+Auction and Modern Painters magazines, is seeking editorial interns for the fall term.
Duties will include research, fact-checking, transcribing interviews, updating the editorial calendar, as well as some administrative work. As part of a tight-knit team, interns will have opportunities to report and write, and will gain insight into both the art world and the process of editing and publishing a monthly magazine. Interns will work with both magazines.
An interest in the visual arts, the art market, and/or contemporary culture is important. So are good writing and communications skills, and attention to detail. Ideally, candidates will currently be enrolled in an undergraduate program, though recent graduates are welcome to apply as well.
Internships require a commitment of two days a week for a minimum of three months and may be done in exchange for academic credit, though receiving school credit is not mandatory. We offer a daily stipend to cover lunch and travel.
To Apply
Please reply to Thea Ballard at tballard@artinfo.com with a resume, two relevant writing samples (no more than 500 words each), and a brief cover letter explaining your interest in this position.
