Job Description
NEWSDAY PRINT INTERNSHIPS
Our interns produce content for the newspaper and for our websites. One of the unique aspects of this program is its hands-on experience. Interns get practical training, work closely with editors and are expected to perform as professionals. We seek candidates who are interested in news, feature and sports reporting, computer assisted reporting, copy editing, layout and design and photography. Interns work in our main office in Melville on Long Island. A car is required for reporter and photo interns except for Opinion page interns.
NEWSDAY.COM EDITORIAL INTERNSHIPS
Newsday.com interns post stories and create photo galleries, polls and other multimedia extras; write blog posts; maintain specific sections of the site; and work on social media. They also assist with breaking news and help with longer-term multimedia projects.

NEWSDAY.COM DIGITAL DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP
The program is designed for students and recent graduates interested in a career in software development or design with a focus on web and mobile publishing.
Interns are sought in the following areas:
• Web and mobile design, CSS, HTML
• Javascript, template development and PHP/mySQL
• Java development
• Quality assurance and testing
