Job Description

Interested in how unscripted television ideas are pitched? Curious about how new show ideas develop from concept to the screen? Part2 pictures is an award-winning television production company that produces high-end non-fiction, reality and journalistic programming. We are looking for students with a specific interest in understanding and learning about unscripted development.

Interns will work directly with the director of development to assist with the development of new show ideas and the pitching process. Development interns will help with market research to inform the team about current, new, and popular unscripted TV programming. Interns will also provide research for new treatments. They will also observe and help with the production and post process of new “sizzle” reels such as finding stock footage or transcribing interviews.

Development Interns will work closely with the development team to help with new show ideas, but may assist with current part2 productions as needed. Interns at part2 pictures will have the opportunity to learn from leading documentary and television producers such as Sundance Award winning filmmaker Peter Richardson (How to Die in Oregon), Producer Rachel Libert (Sempre Fi: Always Faithful), and Cinematographer Peter Hutchens (The Redemption of General Butt Naked).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
- Assist with market research, such as tracking television ratings and providing descriptions of new and current unscripted shows
- Transcribing short interviews and cuts
- Researching and locating stock footage
- Researching news articles and writing summaries for producers
- Assist development team with finding and casting new talent
- Assist in daily organizational and administrative tasks
- Opportunity to observe sizzle edit sessions and local shoots in NYC whenever possible

REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Proficient in MS Office
- Interest in documentary and unscripted television programing
- Mac knowledge preferred
- FCP and Avid helpful but not required
