Job Description

TODAY Digital, the multi-platform arm of America’s favorite morning show, is looking for an associate commerce editor join our ecommerce team and grow our social reach. In this position you will help write shoppable content for TODAY.com aimed at distribution across social channels and platforms like Apple News and AMP. The associate editor will be responsible for daily optimization and creation of commerce stories and will help manage the Shop TODAY social presence on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter. The ideal candidate will have a mix of editorial and analytical skills. They should have the ability to create shoppable editorial content across fashion, home, parents, beauty, health and food. They should be able to use data and analytics to drive editorial decisions and should be able to choose products based on what’s trending and what the target audience is interested in.

Job Description:
• Write shopping content for the Shop TODAY site
• Monitor the news and social space for editorial pitches
• Participate in regular editorial meetings
• Manage the Shop TODAY Facebook page and pitch to the TODAY main Facebook page and Instagram page
• Manage shoppable Pinterest content
• Optimize posts for distribution across newsletters, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Apple News and AMP
Create social content with affiliate partnerships in mind
• Build commerce posts in the CMS
• Work with the audience development teams on stories for paid campaigns

Experience:
• 0-1 years editorial experience, commerce experience a plus
• Experience working with broadcast, celebrities or show producers a plus
• Market work experience for a lifestyle brand a plus

Skills
• Firm grasp of spelling, grammar, and punctuation rules (AP Style)
• Attention to detail and ability to make quick decisions
• Ability to manage many different tasks at once
• Strong understanding of data, analytics and excel
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multiple teams
• Knowledge of affiliate marketing platforms including Skimlinks, Amazon, Linkshare and Rakuten a plus
