Job Description

The TODAY Show and NBC News Digital are looking for an editorial assistant to help optimize and produce shoppable content for TODAY.com and NBCNews.com with a focus on SEO. This role will work closely with the Commerce, Editorial and Audience Development teams to create and optimize content for search. The ideal candidate will have a mix of editorial and analytical skills. He/she should be able to use data and analytics to drive editorial decisions and should be able to choose products based on what’s trending and what the target audience is interested in.

Job Description:
- Write shopping content for TODAY and NBC News with a focus on SEO
- Build commerce posts in the CMS
- Optimize existing and new commerce posts around affiliate partnerships and search keywords
- Participate in regular editorial meetings
- Collaborate with commerce editors identify SEO opportunities
- Track metrics, SEO trends and keyword opportunities and iterate based on findings

Experience:
- 1-2 years editorial experience, commerce experience a plus
- Knowledge of or experience with search optimization a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with all levels of management
- Flexible, organized, self-starter, and extremely detail-oriented – able to seek out answers and resources on own

Skills:
- Firm grasp of spelling, grammar, and punctuation rules (AP Style)
- Ability to manage many different tasks at once
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive thinker with understanding of how to apply data
- Awareness of NBC News properties, executives, policies, guidelines and practices
- Knowledge of affiliate marketing platforms including Skimlinks, Amazon, Linkshare and Rakuten a plus
- Experience working with Google AdWords, Google Trends or Brightedge a plus
