CALLING ALL ON-AIR JOURNALISTS & TV HOSTS WHO LOVE TO PRODUCE A CHILDREN’S SHOW
We are looking to cast a new digital show about news for kids called "First Stop News." We will break down what’s happening around the world in a way that’s easy for 8-to-12-year-olds to understand.
The show will offer kids a reliable outlet for the information they’re seeking, helping to create the next generation of critical thinkers. It will cover all different topics, and hosted by two journalists who speak to the next generation of news consumers through conversational, easy-to-understand language that breaks down important stories.
The show will be on Youtube and taped in NYC.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
First Stop News is looking for a dynamic, creative, smart, hard-working Anchor/Host/Reporter with impeccable news sense and social media savvy, for the launch of a kids news show distributed across multi-platforms. This is an opportunity to join a startup developing an innovative newscast for the next generation.
Responsibilities:
*Read scripts and deliver news on-camera
*Interview show guests and experts on air
*Participate in discussions with other hosts on air
*Pitch stories
*Write and produce short-form and package segments under a tight and changing deadline with visually supportive elements
*Work with leadership to ensure timely and accurate reporting
*Experience producing content for digital and social platforms (i.e. YouTube, Snapchat, TikTok and streaming channels)
*Collaborate with producers, editors and DP to create visually engaging shows
*Ability to adapt to change and quickly develop a plan in breaking news or live interview situations
*Must stay on top of news stories & issues that are important to elementary-aged kids
Qualifications and desired characteristics:
**Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and comparable work experience
*Experience on-camera
*Experience with a daily news show, newsroom, or content team preferred (including internships or college/graduate school programs)
*Strong writing and reading acumen
*Excellent communication skills
*Good time management skills
*Active across Social Media platforms
*Proficiency editing in Adobe Premiere preferred
*Experience with Adobe Suite preferred
*Experience with Canon/Sony/Panasonic cameras preferred
