Psychedelic News, Art, Science, Culture Writers

Reality Sandwich is looking freelance writers to cover psychedelic science, art, health, wellness, and culture in a concise, punchy and entertaining manner. 600-1200 words, no more than 2000. From movies, to music videos, to visual and performing arts, to yoga and self-care, to technology, to the weird and off-beat – many topics fit under the umbrella term "psychedelic," as we see it.

The site gets 100k visitors per month and that will increase over the next 6 months. For the moment, we will focus on addressing topics that are resonating the most within the culture. However, we will continue to expand the range of topics that we cover, and would remain open to your ideas.

We would love to hear from you. It is fundamental to our mission that we support new voices and talent. This would be a remote position that has the potential to grow into part-time or full-time employment. This would be an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of an emerging industry, and to work for a cutting-edge, innovative publication that is disrupting the status quo.

We are looking for writers who can cover evidence-based research on everything from anthropology to zoology. The target audience is made up of the truly curious, people who want to know how everything in the universe works without necessarily being in the field being discussed.

The pieces can cover how the researchers came up with the idea, the trips and stumbles they experienced along the way to their eventual discovery (explained in as much detail as an interested lay audience can expect. It should also have some background on the researcher. With pics and perhaps archived video of the researcher and her research, there should be a great addition to any portfolio.

We are looking for writers and content that show us a different perspective. We are looking for writers that believe they can change the world for the better with their writing. We are looking for writers that believe in substance and meaningful entertainment. Each article has to adhere to our mission statement. Fact checking is more important than trying to be the first ones to break the latest news. Above all, we believe in freedom of speech and expression, but are against freedom of hatred and are interested in writers that understand the difference. In this world of numbers, statistics and likes - we will continue to focus on reaching the humanity in humans via entertainment laden with substance and meaning.

What you get?

Writers will receive exposure publishing their enriching content through a well known and respected media platform. Writers will also get a chance at being a part of the revamping of the platform. Carefully selected writers will also get an opportunity to collaborate with and on respected celebrities and their stories in meaningful ways.
