Online Editorial Intern

BudgetTravel.com has an opening for a fall editorial internship. This is an excellent opportunity for journalism students interested in a career in online writing and/or editing. Internships are unpaid and we are looking for someone who is available at least 12 hours per week. While editorial duties will be scaled to match your skill and academic level, we are looking for interns preferably at the graduate level who have a demonstrated maturity and who are familiar with the travel space and/or online media.

Requirements:
• attentiveness to detail
• ability to meet deadlines while working independently
• experience in Internet research
• course work in journalism, or a demonstrated commitment to journalism in one's extra-curricular time
• published clips and Web experience with a "practical-advice-oriented" journalism focus are a plus, but not required
• experience with HTML and with a content management system a plus, but not required
• familiarity with basic PC or Mac tools, such as MS Word
•passion for travel

Responsibilities include the following:
• learning our social media and content management systems to appropriately tag and organize our online content at budgettravel.com
• spot photography for our blog, hotels, and articles coverage, online and in print, and writing short posts for our blog, This Just In (http://current.newsweek.com/budgettravel/)
• creating at least one Web-only editorial project
• participation in editorial meetings
• administrative tasks, as needed, that require editorial judgment
•responding to reader questions
•writing opportunities for the right candidate

Editorial Intern

Scholastic Parent & Child magazine is looking for an intern to work in our Soho office 2-3 days a week this fall. Our interns are an important part of the editorial team and contribute to the print magazine, website and iPad app. We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, detail-oriented, organized and hard-working. Duties include interviewing celebrities for our website, requesting and tracking product samples, conducting story research, attending photo shoots or press events as needed, and providing general administrative support. This internship is a great way to prepare yourself for a future role as an editorial assistant. Must receive school credit.

Editorial Internship

Us Weekly is currently looking for well-qualified individuals to intern in the editorial department of the magazine's New York headquarters. Interns must be highly-motivated, organized, upbeat and responsible individuals with an interest in celebrity news and pop culture.

Interns are expected to work a minimum of two full days from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. (but should understand that longer hours are sometimes required as we work to meet deadlines to close the issue.)

Some duties that will be expected of interns include: conducting phone interviews, transcribing taped interviews, conducting man-on-the street polls, researching, covering red carpet events and press junkets/conferences on behalf of the magazine, taking notes on celebrity TV appearances, and some routine office duties.

Internship is unpaid, and school credit is available but not required.

Seventeen Magazine Photo Intern

Photo responsibilities include photo research, location scouting, finding props for shoots, calling vendors, and assisting the Photo Editor and Photo Director. Interns should be responsible, have a strong work ethic, be able to work independently, and be incredibly detail oriented. They should be comfortable and effective communicating over the phone, in person, and via e-mail. Prior office and magazine experience is a plus. Photography or Art majors preferred.

Candidates must be in the NYC area, enthusiastic, proactive, able to receive school credit and available two more days per week.

Intern

Harper’s Bazaar is looking for two or three editorial interns to work in the Features department starting immediately. The job responsibilities include researching entertainment and culture-related stories; maintaining a frequently updated culture list; helping to develop content for future issues; transcribing interviews; keeping track of packages received, and performing some administrative tasks.

Ideally looking for students who can work two full days a week. The position is unpaid, and you must receive college credit for the internship.

Editorial Intern (Fall)

Tell New Yorkers where to go and what to do in the city each week as an intern in the Village Voice's calendar department for the fall semester. Duties include pitching ideas to the editors of the calendar section, fact-checking event listings, researching events at various venues, writing brief event descriptions for our website, and contributing short weekly entertainment pieces (which do pay a little) to our Voice Choices section in print.

Fall Online Editorial Intern

HouseBeautiful.com is seeking an online editorial intern for the Fall semester. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: generating story ideas; building and writing flipbooks; photo and editorial research; blogger and site outreach; and much more. Blogging, html, and Photoshop experience preferred but not required.

Wed Editorial Intern at Delish.com

The editorial department at Delish.com, MSN and Hearst Digital Media's food and recipe Web site, is seeking interns to assist in ALL THINGS FOOD:
• day-to-day research
• editing recipes in our content management system
• reporting and writing
• daily social media activities
• brainstorming.

The candidate must have a love of food, a familiarity with recipes, an eye for detail, and the ability to work under deadline. Prior web experience is a plus. In exchange for hard work and effort, you will receive exceptional experience and an open door of opportunity. Hearst Digital Media is willing to work with your schedule, but you must commit to a minimum of 16 hours per week. This is an unpaid internship, for which you must receive school credit.

Esquire Fall Online Internship

Esquire magazine is looking for two part-time interns to join its online department in New York City this fall, starting late August or early September. This is a very hands-on job—interns will help the web editors report, write, edit, photo-research, and produce stories. The ideal applicant is a web-savvy self-starter who’s passionate about all things politics, pop culture, media, and style. Candidates should have some journalism and/or web experience and excellent writing abilities. This is an unpaid internship, and interns must receive college credit. Additionally, one of the interns should be more style-focused, so an interest in fashion is a plus.

Intern at CBS News

The CBS News Internship Program is an educational program designed for students interested in pursuing a career in journalism, broadcasting or communication.

Assignments vary day-to-day. Interns can expect to log tapes, coordinate script, research stories, conduct preliminary interviews, assist during shoots, select footage, perform light clerical duties and assist staff members.
