Credit.com is looking for an editorial intern to assist our New York City content team. The Editorial Intern will work closely with our deputy managing editors and will be tasked primarily with writing short news briefs and slideshows for our blog and syndication network. Credit.com's syndication network includes major news sites, such as MSN, USA Today, Yahoo, AOL, Fox Business, CBS News and ABC News. Other job duties include fact-checking, photo selection and sizing, optimizing existing blogs to SEO specs and performing some administrative tasks.

Consultant

Honeyguide’s consultant should be interested in seeing better stories in the world, and interested in what it takes to get those stories out there. S/he will work closely with our team: Sarika Bansal (editor of The Development Set), Andrea Gurwitt (editor of Bright), and Luis Miguel Echegaray (engagement editor). NYC preferred.

Responsibilities
• Copyediting feature stories and essays for both Bright and The Development Set (approximately 6 pieces per week)
• Liaising with writers and artists contracted for both publications

AlterNet Intern (Paid)

AlterNet.org, a leader of independent news and information on a wide range of progressive topics, is now accepting applications for general interns. AlterNet internships may be full-time or part-time, depending on your stated interest. Our mission is to help students, as well as college and university graduates early in their careers, gain entry-level skills and experience in a fast-paced digital news environment, with interest in text- and video-based content.

AlterNet internships last a minimum of 8 weeks and are based in our New York City office. Editorial Intern

Psychology Today has an excellent opportunity for a few smart and talented editorial interns at our office in New York. We are a small staff, so you’ll be a key member of the team. Interns pitch story ideas and write short articles for the magazine and the website. They typically receive a byline each issue. Other duties include working closely with staff on story research and special projects, proofing print and online copy, helping to manage editorial content on our website, and occasional transcription and light clerical work.

Journalism experience and an interest in human behavior required. Background in psychology and/or experience writing science stories not mandatory, but a major plus. Must be able to juggle several tasks at once and work autonomously.

Position runs May through August, 2–5 days a week.

Digital Product Intern, NBC News Digital

How do you tell stories brilliantly on websites, mobile apps, Roku boxes, Twitter feeds and many other devices and platforms? Planet Money Summer Intern

o you ever wonder about the future of work? Or trade deals? Or ask why a $60,000 handbag is always out of stock? Or what frozen chicken has to do with the price of pickup trucks?

Are you a regular Planet Money listener and fan? Are ready to hit the phones in search of the perfect character? To read the footnotes of CRS reports? To record the sound of a self-checkout machine over and over until you get it just right? To be proud of your weird interests and follow them as far as you can? To pitch story, after story, after story? To transcribe some tape? To write copy for npr.org and our social media accounts?

We’re a team of deeply curious economics and business reporters, and we love telling stories. We work out of NPR’s office in New York City (no Tiny Desk concerts here, sorry). We make two podcasts a week, and plenty of radio stories. Even though we’ve been around for awhile, we like to keep our show scrappy: To try new, ambitious things, all to help people understand their daily lives and the world.

We’d love to have you along for the journey, even if it’s just for a few months -- we love to teach, and we’re looking for someone who’s eager to learn.

Summer News Intern

Semester Interns at Charlottesville Tomorrow are trained as staff reporters to cover local government meetings and events producing articles for publication on our website and in many cases with our media partners (The Daily Progress - BH Media).

Interns also assist with events, social media, and provide general administrative and research support.

Within our mission to make art accessible to anyone with an internet connection, we tell the stories around art and artmaking, with the end goal of creating exciting, engaging, and educational content and dialogue around the art world. With that in mind, we are looking for self-motivated individuals to help us achieve this goal. The successful intern will play an integral part in Artsy Editorial’s growth and our goal to produce content that pushes the conversation around art forward.

As Editorial Intern, the majority of your time will be spent fact-checking and conducting research (both image and otherwise) around a variety of article types from longform artist profiles to stories covering the crossover of art and economics, to art historical pieces and news explainers.

Additionally, you will spend a large percentage of time working with our editors to provide all means of support surrounding coverage of upcoming gallery shows, art fairs, institutional exhibitions, and breaking art-world news. You will also play a substantial role in research and outreach around large-scale artist features and other packages, assist the team in formatting and publishing articles, and will attend and contribute at regular editorial meetings and brainstorm sessions. Depending on your experience and writing skill, you may be given the opportunity to contribute, pitch, and write content around fairs, galleries, and evergreen content.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong time management skills, is meticulously organized, and obsessed with meeting deadlines. Our desired candidate will have a background in journalism, experience working at an arts or culture publication, and/or a background in art history. You are enthusiastic about online publishing, spend most of your time thinking about the possibilities of the written word online, and feel very comfortable undertaking extensive independent research and fact-checking tasks. Additionally, you should have an expressed interest in contemporary art and art history with a strong desire to learn more.

Web Editorial Intern

WomansDay.com and CountryLiving.com (the companion sites to Woman’s Day Magazine and Country Living Magazine) are looking for talented, detail-oriented editorial interns to brainstorm and pitch story ideas, assist with the day-to-day editorial duties, and write alongside our small staff this summer (Mid-May to Late August). Ideal candidates have blogged, interned at a website or magazine, and/or worked on a college publication. They’re also excellent writers and researchers with a genuine interest in women’s lifestyle topics. Our interns write blog posts, build stories in our CMS, update SEO galleries, help manage social media accounts, and provide editorial support to our web editors. In addition to payment, college credit is optional, but preference will be given to students who have already graduated and are looking for a FT paid internship.
