Intern, On Demand - Marketplace:
Marketplace's On Demand intern would work on Marketplace's growing portfolio of on demand programming, including podcasts and voice on demand. Marketplace's On Demand unit is a strategic growth area for the company. It is a primary way that we are increasing the size and diversity of our audience; reaching new audiences where they choose to listen; and a driver for revenue and relevance.

Key Learning Goals:
• Learn how podcast production and editing works
• Learn fundamentals of economic and business journalism
• Learn how podcasts are launched and about this growing industry

Responsibilities:
• Learn and perform a variety of production, research, administrative, and editorial tasks, including cutting tape, and writing digital copy.
• Contribute ideas for episodes, with a collaborative editorial team.

Psychology Today Editorial Internship

Psychology Today has an excellent opportunity for a few smart and talented editorial interns at our office in New York. We are a small staff, so you’ll be a key member of the team. Interns pitch story ideas and write short articles for the magazine and the website. They typically receive at least one byline each issue.

Other duties include working closely with staff on story research and special projects, proofreading print and online copy, helping to manage editorial content on our website, and occasional transcription and light clerical work.

Journalism experience and an interest in human behavior required. Background in psychology and/or experience writing science stories not mandatory, but a major plus. Must be able to juggle several tasks at once and work autonomously.

Type Investigations, formerly The Investigative Fund, incubates high-impact investigative reporting that holds the powerful accountable.

We work with independent investigative reporters to produce deeply reported journalism that is published in partnership with a wide variety of print, broadcast and digital media outlets. Our editors provide diverse freelance reporters with expert editorial guidance, a team of researchers, and assist in covering their travel, time and other reporting costs. We are part of a larger media nonprofit called Type Media Center, which also has a nonfiction book imprint, and several award and fellowship programs.

We are looking for an intern who can do research and/or fact-checking, someone with a deep interest in investigative journalism who has had at least one prior internship or job in a related field. Interns will work closely with our team of editors to do in-depth investigative research, compile databases, conduct originality searches on story proposals, do fact-checking, and generally assist with the operations of Type Investigations.

Though interns will receive training in fact-checking and how to use software such as Nexis, Accurint, and PACER, any familiarity with the above is welcome. We have two intern sessions per year: from June through December, and from January through June, and have one position open per session. The internship is full-time, five days a week.
