Editorial intern - Lifestyle

Mashable is seeking an editorial intern with experience in creating content for the site's growing Lifestyle vertical. Lifestyle covers many topic areas, such as food, fashion, fitness, dating, etc. Fluency in all coverage areas is not required; in fact, proven knowledge in 1-2 content areas is encouraged. Please indicate in your cover letter where your experience lies, specifically.

Candidates should be familiar with Mashable's coverage, especially with its Lifestyle channel, and have demonstrated reporting experience. An active and fluent social media presence is a huge plus.

The Day to Day:

—Pitching and writing lifestyle stories in realms like food, fitness, relationships, culture, beauty, DIY, etc.
—The intern will be responsible for reporting both "light-lift" news and evergreen, utility features.
—Curating photos for the above mentioned topic areas.

Editorial Intern

mental_floss magazine is seeking an Editorial Fellow. This is an incredible opportunity to learn the ins and outs of print magazine publishing first-hand by joining small, hard-working, fun-having team.

Primary responsibilities include brainstorming, pitching, and writing stories; conducting copious amounts of research; and helping with a variety of print production and administrative tasks.

The position pays $12 an hour, and is based in our midtown Manhattan office. We require a commitment of three days a week for a minimum of 12 weeks.

Responsibilities and duties include:
- Identify most relevant trends, breaking news, relevant global and US content. Interview artists, celebrities. Develop stories or content ideas.
- Monitor news-gathering operations to ensure utilization of all news sources, such as press releases, telephone contacts, radio, television, wire services, and other reporters.
- Verify facts, dates, and statistics, using accurate and trustable reference sources. Arrange for copyright permissions.
- Publish these stories and content on our site (we use WordPress) and social presence.
- Have fun in the process.

Web Production Intern

CHARLIE ROSE, INC. is looking for part-time and internship candidates to contribute to the website for Charlie Rose's award-winning PBS interview program. The successful candidate will work with the Charlie Rose online and broadcast editorial teams to update the website and to log episodes for inclusion in a newly digitized archive, and will have the opportunity to observe and assist with the production of the nightly broadcast.

The successful candidate will be well-organized, self-motivated and flexible. Prior experience with web production and digital video preferred; strong writing skills are a must.
