Daniel Pearl Investigative Journalism Fellowship

Washington, DC — Applications are now being accepted for the Daniel Pearl Investigative Journalism Initiative, a fellowship designed to encourage talented young journalists to research and write stories about modern manifestations of deeply ingrained prejudices, including but not limited to anti-Semitism.

Moment Magazine launched The Daniel Pearl Investigative Journalism Initiative in 2010 in honor of the 38-year-old Wall Street Journal reporter slain by terrorists in 2002. With the help of our prestigious panel of journalists, Moment selects and mentors the writer, providing him or her with journalistic as well as financial support. The fellowship offers $5,000 to cover the costs of the project—$2,500 up front, and $2,500 upon completion of the story. The edited stories will be published in Moment, perhaps in conjunction with another media outlet. Applicants must be between the ages of 22 and 38; deadline is April 4, 2012.

Fellows will be mentored by a group of prestigious journalists, including:
• Wolf Blitzer
• Linda Feldman
• Martin Fletcher
• Glenn Frankel
• Bill Kovach
• David Lauter
• Clarence Page
• Robert Siegel
• Paul Steiger
• Lynn Sweet
• David Wessel

This is the second year of the fellowship. The story by the winner of the first fellowship will be published in an upcoming issue of Moment.
