Summer Writing Intern, Spectrum

POSITION SUMMARY

Spectrum is seeking an intern to report and write articles for the Spectrum site. This is an excellent opportunity for a beginning science journalist to cover the fast-moving field of autism. This paid internship has a 24 hour-per-week minimum requirement. The internship is expected to start in May 2022 and will last 3-4 months. The internship will take place at the Simons Foundation's New York City office.

You will learn how to report and write articles that educate, challenge and inspire our audience of scientists, and you'll leave with a collection of great clips. A background or strong interest in neuroscience, genetics, cognition and behavior is essential.

• Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned or required

Decider Intern

Decider.com, a New York Post Digital Network property, is seeking an editorial intern to join our team! This is an opportunity to get hands-on editorial, social and product experience on a rapidly growing digital property. This is a paid internship, and one that is also eligible for credit. Work schedule is flexible based upon the candidate and Decider team’s needs.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct research for content that the Decider staff is working on (articles, lists, video)
- Gather and edit digital assets (still images, screencaps, GIFs, videos) for publication
- Participate in content planning meetings by pitching new ideas for blog posts, galleries, videos, and stand-alone social media executions
- Execute ideas that have been approved for publication on Decider.com and their respective social channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat)
- Assist Decider’s Social Media Editor in developing and optimizing site’s social media strategy

Required Skills:

- Excellent knowledge of pop culture landscape, both past and present
- Creativity and flexibility
- Strong writing and editing experience
- Ability to juggle multiple assignments at once
- Excellent time-management
- Eager team player

Podcast + Marketing Paid Non-Credit Intern

Deed is looking to add a Podcast and Marketing Intern to our growing team. You’ll be part of a small but fast-moving team that is passionate about inspiring more good deeds in the world. (This internship is not eligible for credit.)

Compensation is $15 per hour for 10 hours per week. This internship is set to run through the end of 2021 and extend into 2022.

Qualifications:
Journalism, Communications, Marketing or other relevant studies and internships.
Experience with recording/podcast equipment and software.
Available for 10 hours per week during working hours (9:30am-6pm EST).
An interest in podcasting and marketing.

Duties & Responsibilities
Support on the recording, editing, and marketing of a podcast (70% of the internship)

PART-TIME QUEENS MEMORY CURATOR

The Part-Time Queens Memory Curator is responsible for coordinating outreach to the public about the library’s digitized archival collections. An emphasis is placed on sound and video recordings via curated work products such as podcast episodes, exhibitions, public programs, social media feeds, and publications.
This position is responsible for leading the production of the Queens Memory podcast. Edits audio and video archival content for popular publication and research access. The Part-Time Queens Memory Curator is responsible for audio/visual editing, file migration, transcriptions, and metadata normalization activities. This position will contribute to cataloging activities including the creation of VRA Core and MARC records for archival materials (oral histories, photographs, maps, manuscripts, musical scores, etc.) and collection-level EAD records. Fulfills research requests for archival content needed for internal and external projects. Conducts quality control reviews on edited audio/visual content. Trains staff, volunteers, and interns as needed on creating digital archives projects using editorial techniques and software. Maintains up-to-date expertise in the rapidly changing digital archives and communications and outreach practices for cultural heritage collections, taking a lead on behalf of the library to bring new developments and standards into the library’s practices.

Summer Internship

Domino is looking for passionate, hardworking Editorial, Photo, and Art interns to join our design-obsessed team. Paid Media-Related Editorial Intern

American Spa is looking for an editorial intern interested in the beauty, health, and wellness industry. This intern will help pitch, write, edit, and produce stories for print and digital platforms. The ideal intern is someone who is a great writer and editor with a positive attitude and an interest in beauty and wellness, a keen eye for detail (grammar and spelling), knowledge of AP Style, and a willingness to do in-depth fact checking.
